Meet your Music Mentors

Costa Hagiaglou

Con or “Costa” as he is called by many, is the Founder and Director of King Konz School of Music.

A highly accomplished musical teacher and performer. With 22 years’ experience in the Industry, at the Pinnacle of his career appearing on a national television talent show with touring band King Social.

Costa has first-hand lived the journey of learning music from a young age, and can relate to the highs and lows of mastering your Instrument.

“You can google how to play an instrument, and you will get a stack of information on how to do it. It’s not lack of information that prevents people from learning an instrument. It’s the frustration of not getting it right the first time.

It’s the repetitive fails that we experience again and again. When it gets too hard, most people just quit. I don’t want you to quit, I will teach you the secrets to mastering your mind so you persevere and reach your goals to becoming the musician you want to be.

You do have to get uncomfortable, you have to experience frustration. You must be willing to fail. And more importantly, you need to learn to be kind to yourself, supportive of yourself even when you don’t get it right. This is the secret to achieving your dream to become the musician you want to be”.

Rob Stanier

Rob Stanier has lived and worked in the music industry for over forty years.

In a career specialising in solo performing, Rob has mastered all aspects of performing for a living, including singing, playing piano and entertaining. Rob has lived in Townsville for over twenty years and in that time has not only performed solidly, but has also owned and operated Townsville’s first all digital recording studio. As a performer, Rob became known as “Rob the Pianoman” and played an incredible fourteen year residency at a well known Flinders Street nightclub.

Early in his career, Rob realised the importance of looking after his voice - because no voice meant no food on the table. Researching various singing methods, Rob, who was living in Perth at the time, discovered the Italian Bel Canto method, which is a form of vocal training used by opera singers. He found a teacher/mentor who had adapted this method to suit modern singing, and commenced training. After moving to Townsville, Rob shared his knowledge of singing to other singers by giving private lessons as a part of his recording studio business. These were very well received and Rob was often asked to give lessons, but his performance commitments didn’t allow the time to teach consistently.

With the advent of King Konz school of music, Rob now has a place, and the availability to pass on his wealth of knowledge about singing, keyboards, performing and digital recording techniques. He can’t wait to make his passion your passion
